Ease lockdown stress

Updated: Apr 23, 2021

Here in Europe we are still on strict lockdown. Grocery stores and banks are the only businesses that have been consistently open since March of 2020. Here are some things that have helped me mentally get through being locked in my home.

These are some of the items that have helped me brave this lockdown. Luckily, we live in a "dachgeschoss" which is the top floor of our building and have a rooftop patio with amazing views of the city. During the summer we transform this area into our own little secret garden and makes our Covid "house arrest" a lot more bearable.

Design with Ease

For me, my home is more than a place to decorate. My home is the center of my wellbeing.

#1 I have recently been introduced to invisi bobble scrunchies and my inner 90's kid is so grateful for them.

#2 Our local hardware stores in Deutschland have these hanging house plants and I now have them peppered around our house. They add to our Scandinavian flare hanging from our exposed beams and it's fun to watch them grow.

#3 My daily goal setter journal has helped me concentrate on my short term and long term goals. It also has a daily section to write what you are grateful for and an affirmation to focus on for the day. I got mine on Etsy from MalPaper.

#4 I use these inner beauty vita shakers every morning after my workout. They make shaking up my protein shake even easier.

#5 Of course I could not live without my Ray-Ban polarized sunnies. I did mention that I have been living on my balkon, yeah?

#6 Tinted sunscreen! Ladies, and gentlemen, sunscreen is so important. After paying thousands on laser treatments, I do not leave the house without sunscreen. Ever. I wish I could go back and slap some sense into my baby oil slathering 19 year old self. Since I unfortunately can not, this la roche posay tinted sunscreen will be getting me through my UV conscious phase of life.

#7 My acupressure mat. After a stressful day I put on a sound bath from my online yoga website and lay on this bad boy.

#8 This book has changed my life. Seriously. If you have never read the Miracle Morning, I highly recommend you do so. I was NEVER a morning person before reading this book and was even skeptical a few chapters in. I now LOOK FORWARD to waking up every morning hours earlier than I need to.

#9 Ahh, a good Woodwick candle. Our favorite scent to date is "Evergreen". I am a bargain girl and refuse to pay full price for them. I can always rely on TK Maxx (TJ Maxx in the states) to have them but since our stores have been closed we just bought all of the materials to make our own. I will fill you guys in on that soon : )

#10 Colorful LED strip lights. Just because we are locked in our homes and the clubs are closed does not mean we can not dance around in fun lighting.
